I was talking to Alex the other day and he asked me if I ever have regrets about the women that have been in my life.

I realize now that I don't regret any of my breakups at all. I regret the people who meant a lot to me, the ones that I never told how I really felt.

I don't know that there's a lesson in that necessarily, it may just be human nature to regret the unknown.

Also: the older I get the less importance I put on certain people i've been with in the past. Like, what constitutes a "relationship" in my mind is very different. Jordan referred to Lenya as "(my) ex" a few weeks ago and I caught myself thinking "really? Is THAT what I should consider a relationship? A few months five years ago?" and I think the answer is "no". I mean, it was what it was, but compared to the things that matter to me still, the real relationships, it doesn't mean anything at all.

I think i'm happy being alone. I know i'm happy being alone.

I remember not long ago I met someone who made me feel like I understood some things about myself that needed to change, but at the end of it the important realization I came to was that there wasn't anything wrong with the way I am at all. And for THAT i'm certainly grateful. Looking back on it i'm still sure that was the right lesson for me to learn.

Someone asked me to write about my life so here goes I GUESS

I bought one of these babies:



And it has changed my life forever. I've been amassing a pretty impressive collection of NES games all summer. I like things like the virtual console (emulators not so much) but I very much prefer actually hunting for and buying the original games, plus with the NES 2 they almost always play without a hitch.

I am going to Comic-Con in July.

I received a teaching Grad Assistant position at WMU, which means my entire first year tuition is payed, plus a stipend for a little under $11,000 for the year. Not to mention things like a free parking pass, discounted books, health insurance, not to mention the opportunity to actually TEACH in some capacity. All told this will save me around $15,000 in loans. At least.

That's fifteen

THOUSAND

dollars.

It is more or less a miracle. If you believe in that sort of thing.

Which I don't.

I just started watching the first season of "Lost" and it's already done nothing but piss me off. I do like Locke though because he reminds me of Burger all grown up. OH and I watched "Glee" and I liked it a lot but it won't be on again until SEPTEMBER which makes so much sense it's just astounding.

I am seeing a new girl. It is very soon to be discussing, but it's going well.

Comic should be updating again soon.

Here is what has been happening for the past I don't know lets say four months:

- I graduated from college

- I blew it with a really great girl (again)

- Mom came to visit

- I bought Wii Fit

- I'm writing the script for a short film about retired superheroes

- The school of music gave me a very unexpected and lovely congratulations/goodbye party

- The radio station is making me and everyone else go on one week of unpaid leave

- This, apparently, is called furlough

- So i've taken to calling it being "Edward Furlonged"

- No one finds this funny but me

- I have a head cold I assume it is the pig aids

- Lauren didn't know what a gibbon was until I told her which just baffles me beyond belief

- Signed a lease on my new apartment

- Adam and I have taken to dumping trash into the back of our neighbor's truck

- I think he's on to us

- Good thing he doesn't know we also urinate on his door handles

- And have been since November

- I bought a new t-shirt

- It's on back order

- I heard Seether doing a cover of "Careless Whisper" on the radio and I swear to God I think it gave me cancer

Becca is the last of the four main characters to be introduced into the book. It feels good to have them all out there bouncing around now. Becca is certainly my sentimental favorite, as she's based entirely on an ex-girlfriend of mine, whereas Annie is kind of a mishmash of three girls I know.

I remember meeting Corin at a Detroit comic-con when I was there with YAC a few years ago. He was nice. Smoked menthols.
